Bus Duty this week:  Mrs. McBroom and Mrs. McGee

1.  School will be dismissed at 1:00 TODAY for Winter Break!  Students resume classes on Monday, January 6th.  

2.  JH Girls Basketball Game today at 4:00 vs. Madrid at Home.  8th grade plays first.

3.  Basketball Games are at DSM Christian tonight.  JV Girls/Boys - 4:00 and Varsity Girls/Boys - 6:15.

4.  JH Boys Basketball Game today at 4:00 at Madrid.

5.  JV Wrestling Tournament tonight at 5:00 at Indianola. 

6.  Varsity Boys Dual Wrestling Tournament tomorrow morning at 9:00 am at Pleasantville.

8.  REMINDER REGARDING SCHOOL COMMUNICATION FOR SEVERE WEATHER & EMERGENCIES:

Dear Pleasantville Families,

In the event of adverse weather or emergency situations that require school late starts, early dismissals, or cancellations, the Pleasantville School District will send immediate notice to parents and families. I would like to assure our parents and patrons that at all times, the safety of students and staff is the underlying basis for determining when to cancel school, start late, or send school buses home early. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding when school delays and cancellations occur.

A reminder that Pleasantville Community School District utilizes the “JMC Messenger” system as the primary method to send weather and emergency notices.

In addition to "JMC Messenger" Alerts, the District will also send weather and emergency notices to the following stations and via the following avenues:

* KNIA/KRLS Radio

* WHO TV

* KCCI TV

* WOI TV

* School District Facebook Account (https://www.facebook.com/pvillecsd)

9.  Early Notice:  The JH Boys Basketball Game scheduled for Thursday, January 30th will now be played AT Clarke rather than at Pleasantville.

10.  PARENT REMINDER:  If a student needs to sign out during the school day and/or leave early for any given reason, the office needs to hear from a parent BEFORE the student signs out.  Parents can call in, send an email or a paper note.  If you're sending an email, please notify BOTH secretaries in case one is not at work that day.  Emails are as follows:  lhorstmann@pvillecsd.org and tbrown@pvillecsd.org.  Thank you for your cooperation.

11.  With the new state guidelines pertaining to attendance, be sure to bring in a medical note for appointments so we can code them correctly for you.  It's also important to have good communication with the office so accurate attendance can be kept on a daily basis.
